Barnett Shale Gas De-Liquefying Trial- Texas, USA

On the 27th of May 2011 Airwell Oil & Gas commissioned the first commercial trial of their patented “Slug Lift” technology down a deviated Barnett Shale Gas well to a depth of 7,350 Feet (2,240 Meters)

This well had been de-liquefied with conventional methods until the bottom hole pressure reduced to a point that the well became completely liquid loaded.

Since starting the trial the pump has been pumping an average of 120 BBls per day, however it is expected that the flow rate will stabilise at 20 – 30 BBls per day.

The Airwell “Slug Lift” system has the ability to automatically match the liquid production of the well with the capability of completely de-liquefying the perforations no matter how slowly the well may produce liquid in the future.

This technology will allow Airwell Oil & Gas to combine well head compression with the de-liquefaction of vertical and horizontal gas wells.
